Ajuda Britânica para a legalização dos Furões em Portugal
Enviado: quinta jan 15, 2004 2:20 pm
Boa tarde a toda a comunidade furónica,
Abaixo, encontra-se uma transcrição de um Email que recebi e gostaria de divulgar a toda a comunidade porque penso que poderá ser mais um passo para a legalização deste "bichinho" espectacular em Portugal.

Hi Luis,
Thanks for that information. Our MEP believes that Portugal's position on ferrets is not consistent with the harmonization of European law, and so he will be raising that issue with the European Commission shortly.

Eric Corbett

Hello,
Well, here in Portugal the only law that we have about the ferret´s is about hunting with them. Here is forbidden. About keeping ferret´s at home, as a domestic pet, the law don´t said it´s ilegal but also don´t said that is legal. We are making a effort to see if the law is more clear about this subject. I know that in the island of Madeira, they have specfic law about the ferret´s (There is forbidden as a domestic pet too).
About other´s country, i don´t know (sorry).
Best regard´s,
Luis Ventura

Dear Luis Ventura,
Thank you for your recent order, which will be shipped to you later today.
I have only recently become aware that the keeping of ferrets in Portugal is illegal. Can you confirm that this is true?
Our European Member of Parliament has become interested in ferret legislation across Europe, and he plans to raise this issue with the European Commisison. Do you know of any other countries in Europe where it is illegal to keep ferrets?
Sincerely,
