SV & SV JUDGES - TAKE NOTE
Below is a reply from the Kennel Club, to someone involved in the German Shepherd Dog here in the UK.
Reply from the KC regarding international judges:
Thank you for your recent email requesting an explanation on the effect of recent changes to Kennel Club Breed Standards on international competition.
As you are aware the number one priority for the Kennel Club in reviewing its breed standards was to produce healthier dogs and the Kennel Club will communicate this to its overseas’ partners to ask that each gives serious consideration to accepting the Kennel Club’s changes for this overriding reason. However realistically in a number of instances international competition may be limited as a result, however if the KC system is producing healthier dogs this has to be our main concern.
As far as judges coming from overseas to officiate at KC licensed shows the same conditions will apply as they do now – judges are required to judge to KC standards - UK judges when officiating overseas are required to judge to FCI standards. Each judge will have to adapt their judging to the required standard. This is no different to what happens now where there are differences in breed standards across the world. This is not ideal but we have to address health issues in this country and we will be encouraging other countries to do so too.
Yours sincerely,
Kathryn Symns

URGENT REQUEST
I trust many SV Judges and Officials, as well as WUSV Member Clubs around the World, will realise the Kennel Club here in the UK have CHANGED the GSD Breed Standard for the UK, without any discussion with the GSD Clubs, The GSD Breed Council,, and the TWO WUSV Member Clubs, BAGSD & The GSD League.
The two WUSV Member Clubs, who should support the SV Breed Standard have been SILENT on these changes. They need to issue a public statement condemning these unilateral changes to our GSD Breed Standard.
It is crucial that the SV takes urgent steps to assert its authority and the authority of the WUSV regarding this serious matter.
I urge ALL SV members, around the World, to write and/or email the SV requesting they give this matter their urgent attention.

Bom dia.
