I have two wonderful Serra Estrela dogs. Unfortunately the bitch was badly attacked by a neighbour's dog when she 2 months old. Also she was in quarantine in England for 6 months from the age of 5 months. The problem is that she was not socialised properly and is frightened of all other dogs. She reacts very aggressively. I have asked other dogs owners to help me introduce her carefully to their dogs, but nobody wants to risk it. Does anyone know if there are training schools in Portugal, and if so, where I can find one ? I live near Oliveira do Hospital. Thank you very much in advance. Regards, Amelia
Hi!
I've just checked on the CPC for training clubs, but there are none nearby Oliveira do Hospital. But probably there are some near you that aren't listed on the CPC list for training clubs.
Do you know any Serra da Estrela breeder? If so, call him, or talk to other dog owners, maybe they know were you can find a school for your dogs.
Send a private message do CindelP. Maybe she knows something, or wait to see if she answer you topic, but she may miss it, so send her a private message.

Hi Amelia,
The best thing is really to go to a training school. Estrela really need a firm hand. But they also learn very quickly, so also be patient and don't force thing
Tell me, how old is your female ? So Estrelas, before to age of 2 years old get extremely shy, and may be agressive if under pressure
Also, where did you bought your dogs ? In Portugal or in England ? If you bought them in England, my dear, you may have bought a "england" Estrela, that is very diferent than the true Estrela !

Good friend Vs true friend: A good friend will come bail you out of jail....But a true friend will be sitting next to you saying "... WE screwed up! BUT WASN'T IT FUN!!!

Mandava-me logo pentear macacos!
Não desista, faça um esforço.
