Es o no es Podengo Portugues?

I'm from Romania, so I will write in English, although I speak Spanish (I don't want to offend you). Last winter I found a 1 month puppy in the streets (somebody told me a nice dressed gentelman abandoned her). She is now a beautiful dog and because everybody in the dog park was asking what breed is she, I searched and found out that she looks exactly like a Podengo Portugues Medio, smooth haired. I went with the dog and the pictures from the encyclopedias and from the internet to our national dog association, they confirmed that she looks exactly like in the pictures, but because we don't have this breed registered in Romania, they couldn't give me any written proof that she is indeed a Podengo, or she is a stray mixed breed dog (there are a lot of stray dogs on the streets of Romania). I want to put her in dog shows, but I'm afraid not to be ridiculous if she is not a real Portuguese Podengo. I love her anyway, but I'm curious about her story (she could have been brought from another country and then abandoned). Have you tried to post her image here?

Maybe that way someone more familiarized with Podengo's could make his opinion about you friend.

Hi Catsomania,
I was really surprised with your message....a Podengo in Romania?? I cant believe he was abandoned! Well, it´s a very good portuguese dog, they actually win a lot of 1st prizes.

I wont be able to tell you if he´s really pure, but I´ve done some searching on the web and I guess you can put your case to someone who really knows about the breed.
