Sm duvida um problema cada mais crescente :
"My name is XXXXX and I am the president of ASAIRS Inc. ASAIRS is a
nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to the awareness and
prevention of animal sexual abuse (bestiality). Our official website is
located at: WWW.ASAIRS.COM

I have joined this and other list(s) to introduce this ever growing animal
abuse issue. I do realize that some moderators may not want this issue
discussed on their public list, if this is the case then please email me at:
greg@a... and I will refrain from further postings concerning
this issue.

However, since this form of animal abuse is on the rise and the
practitioners of this form of abuse are attempting to gain social acceptance
as a sexual orientation, that it is time to introduce this "real" issue to
those that advocate, care and are concerned about welfare in general.

At first when you hear the word "bestiality", you think ewwww, your stomach
may twitch or turn and you think this is some type of urban legend or
barnyard joke.

The facts are that this is a "real" abuse issue that is on the rise, the
practitioners in attempts to gain social acceptance as a "sexual
orientation" are using such words as "zoophile", "zoosexual" or simply "zoo"
to identify their sexual preference for animals vs. "bestial practitioner"
or "bestialist".

The facts are that these animal offenders, like pedophiles (child
molesters), many times work in fields where they can be around their
potential victims that they coerce or force into unwanted sexual acts that
in their mind they receive "consent" to do so from a nonspeaking victim.
Many of these bestial offenders work as groomers, stable hands, wildlife
rehabilitators, in veterinary fields, as animal control officers, etc..

In a recent article from the American Association of Sex Educators,
Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) -
Contemporary Sexuality Vol. 35, No. 10 October 2001
"Forbidden Love - Viewing the questions of animal love from two sides",
Helen Miletski, Ph.D., and therapist who has recently conducted a study on
this issue is quoted as saying "In fact, a lot of my subjects were members
of these [animal protection] organizations."

Also, bestial pornography that exploits animal abuse is profiting more each
year. This pornography also serves to attract sexually confused teens,
various sexual deviants and others to the doorstep of this issue. As such,
many of its viewers become curious or want a new kink or thrill and start to
practice this form of abuse to their or others animals. I am sure that many
here have recently received Spam email soliciting such bestial porn sites in
their email boxes.

These offenders not only abuse their animal victims, subject them to
internal injuries or viruses/bacteria normally foreign to the animal, but
also further impose other dangers to society as well. The same underlying
psychological disorders that cause these offenders to abuse animals are also
the same disorders that cause some of them to abuse (physically/sexually)
children, spouses and others in our society. The threat goes beyond our
back yards and boarding stables to our own families and bedrooms.

Here are some facts from past surveys on these threats:

1) The old Kinsley surveys of 1948 and 1953 it was shown that approx. 8% of
the male population at that time had sexual experiences with animals and
approx. 5.1 percent of females.

2) There is an ongoing online survey (since 1997) on sexuality at:
http://www.survey.net/sex1r.html

Thus far over 48,000 participants have taken the survey and it shows:
People involved mildly with Bestiality is 5.7%
People involved heavily with Bestiality is 4.2%
People "Curious" on Bestiality is 11.0%

3) In 1999 the MO Dept. of Corrections administered a polygraph to 116 Sex
Offenders that were on parole/probation. In that test 50% admitted they at
one time had sex with an animal.

4) Lenore Walkers 1984 interviews with battered women, it was shown that
approx. 41% of domestic partners with battering spouses were either cohered
or forced by their partner to engage in bestiality, and in ones without
battering spouses the number was 5%.

5) A Ressler study in 1986 it was shown that approx. 40% of the perpetrators
of sexually motivated homicides reported they had sexually abused animals in
their lifetime.

Believe it or not, bestiality is only criminalized in 27 of the 50 States.
In 23 States this horrid abuse is still legal! Your help is needed to make
this abuse illegal in ALL 50 States. (More on the laws of this issue can be
found on our site at: WWW.ASAIRS.COM). If you live in such a State where
there are no laws, please write your legislators and have them look into
this.

Also, the pornography concerning this issue is illegal in the entire USA
under Federal Codes. But, the FBI and other law enforcement places this
crime at the bottom of their list(s). When you find such pornography listed
on a USA based Internet Server (ISP) or receive advertisement for it in your
electronic/snail mail boxes you can take action and report it to the proper
authorities. We also have more at our website on how to do this.

Further as a precautionary note to animal shelters and other places that may
adopt or foster out animals. Many of these animal sexual offenders advocate
and seek (prefer) animals that are "in tact" and therefore will try to
obtain animals not spayed/neutered and even attempt to finds ways around
various adoption contracts that require such. One way is by asking if they
can have the animal sterilized via tubal/vasectomany vs. spay/neuter.

I want to thank everyone here for their time and close in saying that you
can visit the ASAIRS site at: WWW.ASAIRS.COM to find out more on this issue
and how you can help. We have many informative pages and resources and will
help in any way we can.

Thank You,
Good friend Vs true friend: A good friend will come bail you out of jail....But a true friend will be sitting next to you saying "... WE screwed up! BUT WASN'T IT FUN!!!
