Agora a minha opinião pessoal:

Shiloh Shepherds have undergone a very intense "re-creation" process. The Shiloh Shepherd breed is the result of 30+ years of type breeding to get back to the old world style shepherd dog, with soundness, temperament and health intact.

In the 1980's, a small percentage of Alaskan Malamute was added to some of the Shiloh bloodlines to reduce pelvic angle somewhat, increase bone, and reduce genetic disorders resulting in the Shiloh Shepherd we see today. These bloodlines that have the Alaskan Malamute blood are referred to as "MAW" lines. Those without the Alaskan Malamute blood are called "NON-MAW". The Shiloh Shepherd is still a breed under development.

The Shiloh Shepherd is very similar to the German Shepherd except it is bigger, has a sounder temperament and for the most part has better hips. The breed club promotes temperament testing and issues certificates for individuals which it considers to be neither fearfully shy nor dominantly aggressive. The Shiloh has been bred to have a medium to medium-soft temperament (though other temperaments can be seen), being calm and friendly, great with children, and yet can be an excellent protection dog. It is NOT recommended for aggression work. Shiloh's can be seen in herding, search and rescue, therapy and service work.

The Shiloh Shepherd loves strenuous activity, preferably combined with training of some kind, for these dogs are very intelligent and crave a good challenge. They thrive best if they are used for a purpose- as working breeds should be. They're not the type that is content with laying on the couch for the majority of their day.

The coat comes in two varieties, smooth and plush. The plush coat requires regular brushing to keep it clean and tangle free. The smooth coat requires minimal grooming. This breed sheds bits of hair constantly and is a seasonally heavy shedder. These dogs should be owned by individuals who can brush and comb the dogs every few days.

The Shiloh Shepherd comes in various colors. Shades of black with tan, golden tan, reddish tan, silver, and cream are as desirable as various shades of richly pigmented golden, silver, red, dark brown, dark gray, or black sables. Also solid black or solid white is acceptable as long as the nose, eye rims and lips are solid black.
