Alguém conhece a série televisiva dogtown?
Fala da associacao bestfriend e é sobretudo sobre caes abandonados. É excelente, dá no canal national geographic.
E também se aprende muita coisa sobre certos problemas que até nós podemos ter com os nossos próprios caes.
Dogtown é uma pequena cidade de 33000 hectares. Isso é enorme.
A série é mesmo genial.
Se por acaso nao conhecerem e tiverem hipotese de ver a série, aconselho e ver.

Eu costumo ver a serie e adoro. Aprendesse N coisas. Eu por exemplo, aprendi a treinar as minhas cadelas com esse pregrama.
No national geographic tambem dá outra serie que e sobre um grupo de homem fanaticos por tatuagens, motas, carros e animais.eles vão a casa de pessoas que maltratam os animais e ensinam-nas a tratalos bem, resgatam animais da rua e arranjam.lhe novas casas.
Nao sei como se chama o programa, mas que é bue fixe, é!

Costumo ver o Dogtown, já o Rescue Ink é um bocado seca. Mas é giro o conceito, um bando de homenzarrões tatuados e com ar de Hell's Angels empenhados no resgate de animais em risco.

Dogtown is the most welcoming place on earth. They may have been homeless, but none of the dogs here are sad and forlorn.
Everywhere you go, you're greeted with wagging tails, yelps of excitement and big, friendly eyes.
This is truly a neighborly, all-American town.
Dogs here don't live in cages. They're divided into "packs" of friends and each pack has its own indoor/outdoor home with plenty of running space, warm snuggly beds and lots of toys.
The residents here enjoy scenic views, sandy earth for digging, and the cool shade of trees. But most of all, they enjoy each other!
They come from all walks of life.
Best Friends dogs were all originally abandoned, abused, neglected, or lost a person to illness or death. Some have truly extraordinary stories.
Wilson, for example, came from a Class B dog dealer who was going to sell him to a laboratory for experiments!
It took a federal bust to bring down the unscrupulous person who was possibly stealing, then holding these dogs in terrible conditions before selling them to labs and other horrible fates.
But here at Dogtown, he'll get good food, prompt medical attention, fresh air and plenty of new friends.
Some are traumatized.
But Dogtown is a great place to come out of your shell.
Harmon came from an animal hoarder who was keeping more than a hundred animals locked up in tiny, filthy cages, often forgetting to feed them or provide medical care.
When Harmon arrived, he'd been alone in a cage so long, his teeth worn down from trying to escape, that he didn't know how to act like a dog anymore. He was like a walking zombie, he was so mellow.
But not anymore! At Dogtown, Harmon is finally remembering what it's like to run and play like a dog.
At Dogtown, the animals can dig, they can bark, they can be silly. There are no rules they have to obey, and no one's going to get mad at them.
Here, Dakota plays an exhilarating -- and dusty! -- game of fetch with his caregiver Abe.
Out of all the scenic towns on earth, this may be the one where dogs are most free to just - be dogs.
A little antisocial, are you? That's OK.
Some dogs like Baby can't tolerate having other dogs in their space. So they live in special dog lodges where they can have their privacy - and won't fight!
Still, even the antisocial dogs are valued members of Dogtown. Here, nobody tells a dog what he should be or who he should like. A dog can participate in all the commotion as little or as much as he likes.
After all, this town belongs to them!
Some need extra time.
Many dogs like Bandit arrive at Best Friends feeling bewildered or "put out" by their pasts. He arrived a semi-feral dog, and at first, would run from anyone who tried to approach.
But the good cheer at Dogtown is contagious. Before long, new dogs want to stop pouting and join in the fun. It happened to Bandit too.
One day, when the leashes came out, he decided he'd had enough of leaving himself behind to pout. He begged to be taken on the group walk, and has been a part of things ever since.
It seems that one day, he just woke up and decided to join Dogtown!
Some are older.
Welcome to Old Friends. This is the slower side of Dogtown, built specially with the "mature pooch" in mind.
To an older dog who's lost her home, having a safe place to go, where she won't be "euthanized" so long as she's feeling OK, where she can make new friends, have a reliable routine and lots of fellow retirees to share her Golden Years is an absolute godsend.
Here, the dogs move slower. They cuddle more and play a little less. Their bonds are sometimes sleepy ones. Wrestling matches have been replaced with the warmth of "just knowing you're there."
The dream of most Dogtown dogs is to find a family to call their own.
That's why we think of Dogtown as a "stopping place", a place for these dogs to recover from the past, and wait for the future to stop by in the form of a person or a family looking for a new best friend.
Best Friends welcomes a few pooches with behavior problems so bad, they cannot be adopted and will live out their lives in Dogtown among the canyons. But they are the exception.
Most Dogtown dogs are passing time, hoping anxiously for a chance to be a real member of someone's family.
And if it still takes some of them longer than others to find a home? Don't worry - this is Best Friends and the animals here are all welcome to stay here for as long as it takes.
Dogtown welcomes visitors! No community could make you feel more welcome than Dogtown. Every guest is instantly popular. Especially guests who like going on walks -- or hosting doggie sleepovers.
