IAMS FACT SHEET REGARDING DOGS AND CATS IN ANIMAL HEALTH RESEARCH
This is to clarify Iams position regarding our research. Here are the facts.
1. The Iams Company has made major advances in nutritional health benefits for millions of dogs and cats worldwide.
· In our efforts to develop nutritional health advances, we have sponsored research worldwide at veterinary schools and universities. This research has answered vital questions about animal health. Based on those answers, we have been able to make many discoveries including nutritional advances in:
- Canine/feline kidney disease, which resulted in our specific veterinary diets, available only by prescription. These diets make a significant difference in the lives of cats and dogs with renal failure, a chronic and fatal illness that affects 15% of dogs and 25% of cats.
- Skeletal development, which makes a big difference for large breed dogs, where painful and debilitating developmental bone problems can occur in up to 40% of puppies.
- Skin and coat, which provides nutritional support for addressing sensitive skin problems where pharmaceutical intervention may be the only alternative.
- Immune system, where antioxidants provide a significant impact on young and senior dogs and cats.
2. Iams openly publishes our findings so that other researchers can help improve the health and well-being of dogs and cats without repeating research studies.
· Iams research has been presented, published, and part of the public record for the past 12 years. Other leading petfood companies have also sponsored studies over the years.
· The Iams Nutrition Symposia regularly brings together experts from 80 universities and 136 veterinary hospitals, from more than 40 countries, who then return home to apply the knowledge in their own practices.

Falando só do aspecto económico, quando se soubesse ( é impossivele sconder isso na era da informação) era o fim da companhia.
A associação que disse isso é célebre por campanhas bombásticas para aprecer ns noticias._
!- menins a mostrar os seios nas toruradas em Pamplona, que envergonha as pessoas sérias da luta contra as touradas.
2- Soltam animais em exposições caninas, inclusivé ei de pessoas nos EUA com animais que morreram ao serem atropelados depois de os petas os terem solto para a rua.

A Peta defende quer todos os animais devem ser livres e sem interferência do Homem. O teu Welsh Corgi é uma raça a abater por ser artificial, os criadores devem acabar, e a longo prazo mesmo os cães sem raça definida seriam devolvidos à natureza sem nós nos metermos com eles..

A única verdade absoluta da PETA é o que a respectiva sigla significa em português....é uma peta
Se fizeres uma pesquisa na Arca vais ver alguns tópicos em que falámos desta organização. Inclusive uma troca de mails que eu tive com eles acerca de raças de cães, e o facto deles serem "contra raças"...todos os animais devem ser deixados livremente e a natureza é que deve fazer a selecção sem qualquer intreferência do homem...se é para morrer que morram! Cães como o teu ( pernas curtas e corpo "largo"), entre muitas outras raças, são simplesmente para acabar!
Vale tudo! Atentados a laboratórios, libertação indiscriminada de animais cativos e cobaias de experimentação....mais uma vez, se for para morrerem que morram, porque tudo o que são animais seleccionados pelo homem nem sequer deviam ter existido!

Nunca ouvi falar da tal PETA, mas tenho lido algumas referências a experiências com cães feitas por algumas marcas de rações. Brevemente porei aqui alguns links relativos a este tema.

Tomás, entre acreditar na PETA e na IAMS, eu sou levada a acreditar mais na PETA. Tudo bem, são radicais, mas se não o fossem não teriam RAD para levar a cabo certo tipo de investigações.
Mais do que tentar passar-te a minha opinião como os restantes membros, sugiro-te que faças uma pesquisa na net ou em jornais sobre a PETA e sobre a IAMS... assim é a TUA opinião e não a minha, que poderia ser resultante do facto de pertencer a um lobby, por ex.
Por outro lado, será que há outras associações de defesa dos animais que falem no assunto também, com recurso a outras fontes?
Depois quando chegares à TUA conclusão, diz-me qualquer coisa, manda-me os links de sites interessantes que encontraste, ok?

A Peta que levou na cabeça da Liga de mães contra condutores bêbados dos EUA por andar na sescolas a dizer para as crianças beberem CERVEJA e NÂO LEITE.
A Peta que usou as escrituras com aquela coisa idiota de Cristo ser vegan

A Peta cuja ideia de activismo aquando de Barrancos mandou dois cartazes em Inglês :p ( ao menos mandassem as miúdas parvas que mostraram os seios em Espanha).
A Peta cuja presidente Ingrid Newkirk compara a morte de galinhas ao Holocausto nazi chocando a comunidade Judaica.
Para quem a morte de um canário é tão importante como a de uma criança.
Enfim, só de saber que existem pessoas em Portugal a apoiar essa organização faz-me pensar que só o podem fazer por ignorância.
